This is the Texas Book Tour for This Is Not a Confession.
June 4th through June 7th. Three cities. 450 Miles.
The first stop was Austin at Book People. The only thing that could’ve made this better for me is if somehow Willie Nelson’s name could’ve been on the marquee above mine.
Btw, sometimes even bookstores make spelling errors…
It was a great crowd full of friends and even a few strangers…

I did my standard amount of finger slamming…
I believe the line I’m saying here is “Which, by the way, are illegal in New Jersey…”
Afterwards, there was some conversation with Francois Pointeau…
And some signings…
Then we went to Grackle to celebrate…
Then we took a day to chill with friends. Now it all seems like a blur…
Next stop was Dallas. This skyline gives me a little of the warm and fuzzies…
We started drinking a little too early at The Wild Detectives.
There were three other great readers to break the ice with the crowd. First up, the mystical and mythical Courtney Marie…

The Dallas send-off committee met me bright and early the next morning and blew me kisses as I drove away to Houston…
From the road, I saw Brazos Bookstore had set up a killer display…

Only a year younger than me….
This reading was different in that it had the highest percentage of folks I didn’t know in the audience. I made sure to wave my hands an extra amount for them…
Brazos Bookstore asked me to sign one of their folding chairs, which I was happy to do, because you never need to ask me twice to create a relic.
Relic…
The chair seems to be working, because this past week, I wound up on Brazos Bookstore’s bestseller list!
