Every couple of years I take my keyboard out and go about re-learning the songs and riffs I’ve forgotten. And each time, there are slightly fewer hours involved in getting caught up. And each time, I learn something new.
The main thing is this: I need to get out of Word Brain and into Music Brain for a bit. Music Brain and Word Brain can barely stand to be in the same room together, which is why I put the keyboard far away from my computer this time. They fight like angry dogs. And yet, they feed one-another when nobody’s looking, and rarely arsenic.
