In the hot, chipmunks hide underneath the big round chipmunk covers. And when The Bald Man turns them on their side to empty the water and to “free the skeeters” he keeps in there, sometimes one will scurry out from underneath. And, by god, I have slammed my head into a tree or two chasing those fuckers with the quick and the crazy.

In the cold, the water inside the chipmunk covers turns hard. And I don’t think there are any skeeters to free, cuz the Bald Man never turns them over. There are no chipmunks out to my nose, so it’s hardly worth a turn-over, anyhow.

I think some people put plants in their chipmunk covers, but The Bald Man seems to have the right idea keeping them like this.
